UW-Green Bay's Student Engagement Center is gearing up to host the first annual Festival of Cultures on April 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place on the Student Services Patio Rooftop outside of the University Union on the UW-Green Bay campus. According to Signature & Cultural Events Coordinator Nina Dessoir, the festival aims to "bring students and the community together along with educating others on different cultures, ethnicities, and countries."

The festival will feature a variety of activities including food from the Carribean Cruiser food truck, cultural booths, inclusive activities, giveaways, and three live performances. The performances include the band PEGASIS, the Hmong dance academy Nakauj Zaj, and the UW-Oshkosh based traditional Japanese taiko-drumming group, Oshkosh Taiko.

Dessoir also highlighted the importance of showcasing culturally unique traditions, stating that "each student organization, department, and community group will have a table where they can showcase their culturally unique traditions to the broader community."

The Festival of Cultures is part of UW-Green Bay's efforts to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, with seven other events planned throughout April. The university encourages both community members and students to attend the free festival, with parking available at the Studio Arts parking lot or the Kress Events Center parking lot for easy access.

UW-Green Bay, known for its commitment to education that ignites growth and tackles challenges, serves a diverse student population and offers a wide range of academic programs.
