The Howard-Suamico School District (HSSD) announced that 32 Bay Port students have advanced to the international DECA competition following their participation in the state conference. This announcement was made through a press release on March 3, 2025.
According to the press release, at the DECA state conference, Bay Port students achieved top honors across various categories. First-place winners included Beau Jensen, Max Romenesko, James Williams, Nick Hawker, Ashlyn Imig, Tommy Kemen, and Mira Matuszewski. Madi Ashmead secured first place in Apparel & Accessories, while Romenesko earned second place in Entrepreneurship. Several students also received medals in role-play scenarios with multiple top placements throughout.
The DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC), scheduled for April 26-29, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, is described as the pinnacle event for DECA members. It brings together over 23,000 students, educators, and business professionals. The conference features competitive events where more than 10,000 students showcase their career and business skills. It also includes an Emerging Leader Series focused on 21st-century skills and a college and career exhibit with over 100 institutions and businesses. Additional highlights include the School-based Enterprise Academy, executive officer campaigns, and professional learning opportunities for advisors.
Bay Port High School is located at 2710 Lineville Road in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It serves over 1,900 students in grades 9-12 and was established in 1963 with an initial graduating class of 30. The school's mascot is the Pirate with school colors of navy, white, and Columbia blue. In 2024, it expects to graduate 449 students with a projected continuation rate of education after graduation at 90%. The current principal is Michael Frieder.
