The Green Bay Area Public School District announced that Green Bay Southwest High School held a jersey retirement ceremony for alumna and WNBA star Natisha Hiedeman on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The announcement was made in a press release on April 11, 2025.
According to the press release, Natisha Hiedeman, a 2015 graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School and standout multi-sport athlete, became the first in the school’s history to have her jersey retired. The event, attended by friends, family, and community members, featured remarks from school and district leaders, former coaches, and Hiedeman herself. Her jersey is now displayed in the gym rafters.
During her high school career, Hiedeman scored 1,773 points and earned multiple state honors in basketball. She also competed at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state level in both track and tennis. Later at Marquette University, she was named BIG EAST Player of the Year and became the third player in program history to be drafted into the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She currently plays for the Minnesota Lynx.
Hiedeman expressed gratitude during her speech: "To all who have supported me along the way, you know what the City of Green Bay means to me, and more specifically Green Bay Southwest," she said. "My jersey being retired today is not only an accomplishment to me but an accomplishment of all of us. I want to thank the school for this amazing honor and I hope that this can inspire other young girls growing up that anything is possible, especially here in little old Green Bay. With that being said ‘go Trojans’ and I will always bleed blue and white."
