The Green Bay Area Public School District has announced that three of its music educators have been recognized by the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum for the 2026 Music Educator Award. Kimberly Meader from Green Bay Preble High School, Emily Paulsen from Webster Elementary Children’s Center for Integrated Arts, and Brandon Rockstroh from Green Bay Southwest High School are among those honored.
According to a press release, the award was established to honor U.S. music educators who have made significant contributions to music education and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining music education in schools. The award is open to current U.S. music teachers, with nominations accepted from students, parents, colleagues, school administrators, or the teachers themselves.
This year saw over 2,000 nominations submitted, with 200 music educators from 180 cities named as quarterfinalists. Additionally, 214 legacy applicants are eligible for consideration. Meader is recognized as a legacy applicant while Paulsen and Rockstroh are quarterfinalists. The semi-finalists will be announced in September 2025.
The Recording Academy aims to recognize excellence in the recording arts and support the well-being of the music community. Its goals include advocating for music creators' rights, celebrating achievements with the GRAMMY Award, educating future generations of music professionals, and fostering a shared love of music.
The Green Bay Area Public School District is Wisconsin's fourth-largest public school district, serving over 18,000 students across 39 schools. Founded in 1856, it encompasses communities such as Allouez, Ledgeview, Bellevue, Green Bay, and Scott. The district offers diverse educational pathways and has a rich history that includes the century-old football rivalry between East and West high schools and City Stadium's role as the original home field for the Green Bay Packers. Its mission is to prepare students for success in college, careers, and their communities.
